Structures

All temporary demountable structures must comply with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and must be approved by the Outernet London Safety Team by way of detailed structural drawings encompassing all elements (walls / set / scenery etc).

All walling and / or freestanding structures must be designed to be structurally sound and securely bolted to raised flooring thereby being able to withstand the load of persons applying lateral force to that structure.

Subject to the complexity of the design, the Outernet London Safety Team may request structural calculations for demountable structures. To ensure the design is safe to install at Outernet London, we will require these calculations to be reviewed and approved by an external structural engineer who will charge a bespoke fee for the work depending on the scale of the design and the time taken to complete their review.

All enclosed temporary demountable structures must have adequate ventilation between the walls and roof to allow smoke to escape in the event of a fire, and therefore be detectable by Outernet London’s fire detection systems.

Please ensure any painting is undertaken only as part of finishing or snagging any structure during your load-in. No major paint works are to take place onsite.
